The IW girls golf team competed in a match against Dwight, Watseka, and Seneca at Dwight Country Club on 9/16. The Seneca team placed first with a team score of 192. Iroquois West followed with 213, Watseka with a 215, and Dwight with a 220.
Meet medalist was Seneca’s Piper Stengel with a score of 43. First for IW was Kaia Kimmel with a 45. Other scores for the Raiders were Paige Miller 54, Karsyn Arie 56, Ella Lunt 58, and Jovie Herscher 67.

IWCC Raider Rifle Club standout Aubrey Chandler was recently honored by the Iroquois County Board for her third place finish in the 2025 Illinois State Rifle Association (ISRA) state conventional championship.
Aubrey is one of the select few Raider Rifle Team members to participate in the ISRA’s outdoor smallbore prone program, in addition to the indoor air rifle program at Iroquois West. She has participated in weekly league matches for the past few years. These serve as excellent practice for the state Championships. The Championships are a two day event, Saturday being the metric phase (international ISSF targets) and Sunday being the conventional NRA target phase. Aubrey placed third with a score of 1547, out of a possible 1600 and an x count of 65 out of a possible 120 during the NRA phase of the championships. All this after a grueling 160 shots on the smaller metric targets the previous day. Past juniors from the program who have won the championship include Josette Peters, Levi Peters, John Finnegan, Randy Sellek, Quintin Miller, and others going back to the 1980’s.
Aubrey has through the year of her 20th birthday to compete as a junior shooter. We expect to see her back and aiming for the championship!
I would like to thank Rich Pearson and Jim Miller at ISRA for making the junior program possible, especially ammo at no charge and world class Walther rifles for use during the season.
